Room Tour @nestdesignstudio_bel
Being an interior designer who specializes in nurseries and childrens rooms, it’s important for me to be able to show my clients something different and to stay ahead of the trends (with all the monochrome around, I went for the complete opposite). And given that this was my third (and final!) baby boy, I wanted to create a softer room than with my other sons nurseries. I wanted the room to feel serene, calm and gentle but still with a masculine edge. Adding raw timber to white and copper helped give it a more ‘boy’ feel.
The Nurseryworks Empire Rocker isn’t generally available in Australia, so as I was having one imported for a client, I was able to add another on for me. It’s quite a statement piece in the room and I adore it.
There are lots of elements in the nursery that support small Australian businesses, a few DIY touches (like the toy box and leather handles) and pieces that are special to us as a family (the side table is from our farm as is the toy box which had been sitting in a junk pile for nearly 30 years).
There isn’t one thing in the nursery that I don’t love!
