It's been a minute since our last kid-friendly city guide and we've been itching to get one up for our readers. When we heard Lindsay of Darling Clementine had recently moved to Portland, we couldn't wait to get her insider tips on this wonderful city. Read on for all of her favorite spots to visit with her little ones in tow, from restaurants to museums, Lindsay has your next trip to Portland covered!

Por Que No Taqueria - Delicious and affordable place to take the kids and enjoy yourself too. Killer margaritas don't hurt either and there's a great kids menu, which seems to be a typical Portland thing (lucky us!). Portland is a HUGE happy hour city so we take advantage of that with early dinners at all of our favorite spots, including Por Que No.

Cooper's Hall - A winery that welcomed our children with space to play (think big open space), delicious food and wine on tap, you can also bring your own bottle and have it filled up to go. Picnic tables inside provide easy dining options for little ones too.

Portland University Farmer's Market - a large farmer's market to pick up all your weekly needs as well as lots of grass to play on, benches to sit on and stalls and stalls of fresh made delicious food, so make it there for breakfast or lunch and enjoy pizza, biscuit sandwhiches, authentic mexican food and delicious coffee. Our favorites include the crepe stand, which has both savory and sweet options

Salt and Straw - Portland's famous ice cream shop, the hype is real, it's that good. With quirky flavors like Pear and Blue Cheese and Honey Lavender it's fun for the foodies in the family but classic flavors like Double Fold Vanilla and my personal favorite Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache make even ice cream purists happy. They're also known for sampling while you wait in notorious long lines helping to ease the wait! An insider tip: Buy in pints and you can skip the line, grab a few spoons on the way out and dig in!

Portland Children's Museum - a charming and super interactive museum for kids of all ages, with a water play room, grocery store and diner and a fantastic theatre where kids can dress up and act out whatever they'd like. Oh and the teeny cafe stocks healthy options like delicious tortilla soup!

Jameson Square - This open city park (more concrete then grass) is perfect for a mid shopping trip pit stop to stretch those (often impatient) legs. In the Summer the fountains are on and kids can splash and cool off in the water. There is plenty of food & drink nearby for a quick picnic lunch too! Jameson Square is right in the heart of the Pearl District and easily reachable via public transport.

Kruger Farms/Sauvie Island - M favorite place in Portland, a short drive from the city center and you're in farm land, picking your own fruits, veggies and flowers, enjoying sunset live music at Kruger Farms and frolicking on the shoreline. We went almost weekly until November! Kruger Farms has weekly events through from Spring to Fall and is a beautiful place to spend the day, whether you want to stock up your pantry or just be outdoors with the kids.
