Beru Kids
We are so excited to share the new to us "Beru Kids" collection with our readers today. We love these unique, modern pieces, just perfect in their simplicity!
Beru is an ethical children's clothing brand repurposing deadstock materials into original styles for kids that let them be little. Harem pants, bomber jackets and breezy dresses from soft, durable fabrics in playful prints are designed and crafted locally in a partner factory implementing sustainable practices in downtown Los Angeles.
Founder, Sofia Melograno, with a Master's in Development Studies and a degree in International Studies, ventured to Sub-Saharan Africa to work in public health, poverty alleviation and development. There, she became interested in the great power of ethical fashion initiatives. Upon returning to the States and visiting factories in downtown LA in the beginning stages of her clothing line, Sofia became aware of the poverty in her own backyard. And so, Beru works directly with its partner factory, and resident designer, to transform materials--that would otherwise be thrown away--into beautifully-designed, thoughtfully-made clothing for kids. For Sofia, Beru is the manifestation of family; of the people and communities that have inspired her throughout her life.
These pieces are some of the best quality, eco fashion on the market, hands down!
